Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong to Open on April 28 on Victoria Harbour Front



Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong is finally opening its doors on April 28, along the shoreline of Hung Hom Bay on Victoria Harbour. The newly built 16-storey hotel is the first to open on the Kowloon waterfront since 1995 and will feature 546 guestrooms and suites, outdoor living spaces, distinctive dining destinations, and facilities catering to business and meeting functions, as well as family activities. It is the fourth Hong Kong property of the luxury hotel group Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts and the city’s first urban resort.

The property was designed by architect and interior designer Andre Fu, globally renowned for his innovative concepts when it comes to hospitality projects. Bathed with plenty of natural daylight, the hotel’s interior features a multi-level podium space with extensive outdoor landscaped gardens which connect seamlessly to the hotel's various public areas. A well curated collection of more than 1,000 art pieces are also showcased throughout the property, many of which were specially commissioned from Asia's most prominent contemporary artists to complement the fluid design of the property.

Arrival Experience

Upon arrival, the guests will be welcomed by astonishing views of the waterfront through a curved glass window towering eight meters high and spans 80 meters in width. A vast outdoor garden adorned with topiary hedges is accessible from the lobby. Adding to the stylish interior is a 50-meter Turkish onyx marble wall which leads to the Grand Staircase and the Grand Ballroom.

Guestrooms and Suites

More than 60% of the hotel's guestrooms feature panoramic views of the Victoria Harbour and of the Hong Kong Island skyline. Starting from the Deluxe Sea View Room with is luxuriously spacious at 42 square meters to the stately 294 square meters Presidential Suite. Each of the guestrooms is furnished with contemporary comforts in mind, including a custom-built open closet, complimentary mini-bar choices upon arrival, Internet Protocol Television with free videos on demand, and bespoke lighting pendants infused with subtle Asian references.

The Club, a 300-square-meter lounge, provides guests staying in Club rooms and suites with personalized level of service such as suit pressing (one suit) and shoeshine service upon arrival, personalized check-in service and a late check-out of 4:00pm (subject to availability), as well as an e-concierge which will attend to the guests’ needs both inside and outside of the hotel. Club guests also enjoy a line up of exclusive and complimentary amenities including all-day beverages and light snacks, evening cocktails and canapés from 5:30pm, daily breakfast in the Club lounge, wide selection of newspapers and magazines, high-speed Wi-Fi connection, and use of meeting room for up to two hours per day.

Restaurants and Bar

All five of the Kerry Hotel Hong Kong's restaurants as well as its bar have an outdoor landscaped terraces overlooking the Victoria Harbour. This is a feature unique to the hotel which makes for the perfect backdrop for the Hong Kong’s newest dining destinations.

Hung Tong is the hotel’s signature restaurant with an old Hong Kong feel coupled with a modern take on Chinese cuisine. The all-day dining restaurant, Big Bay Café, features seven individual pavilions dedicated to specific cooking methods and local and international cuisines. The Lobby Lounge serves a variety of Asian-inspired cocktails, homemade soft drinks and reinterpretations of some of Hong Kong’s favorite and nostalgic dishes. Red Sugar, the hotel’s bar, features 270-degree wraparound terrace with sweeping views of Hong Kong’s skyline. Dockyard brings together culinary talents from around the world creating dishes at an affordable pricing. It has its own mobile application (iOS and Android) which enables users to browse menus, order food and drinks, and pay.

Recreation

Base Camp Kerry Sports goes beyond the typical hotel fitness center and extends active lifestyle beyond the hotel’s doors with a host of outdoor activities including running clubs. Operating 24 hours a day, Base Camp includes a wide selection of fitness equipment, a 25-metre outdoor infinity swimming pool which is heated in winter, Jacuzzi, steam bath, sauna and spa facilities.

Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong also created The Bay Area Guide which allows guests to rediscover the Hong Kong’s history and food culture trails along the shore of Hung Hom Bay.

Transportation 

Centrally located on Kowloon peninsula, guests of Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong can easily reach the city's attractions by ferry, train, subway, bus, taxi, limousine, or on foot. The hotel is only a short walk away from the Hung Hom Ferry Pier, Whampoa MTR Station and Hung Hom Train Station. The Hong Kong International Airport is 40 minutes car/taxi ride from the hotel. While taking the Airport Express Line will take you to Kowloon Station in less than 20 minutes. From Kowloon Station, the hotel is just a 10 minutes car/taxi ride away. Tsim Sha Tsui East, the famed shopping district, is within a short walking distance.
