The Deluxe River View Room is one of the two lead-in guestroom categories of Shangri-La Hotel Bangkok. Measuring 36 square meters, the Deluxe River View Room is furnished with a comfortable bed, an executive desk, and a Thai-inspired seating area. Guests staying in a Deluxe River View Room are treated with a panoramic view of the Chao Praya River.
The Deluxe River View Room is facing the direction of west, towards the horizon where the sun sets. The sunlight can be pretty intense in the afternoon but the view becomes spectacular during sunset. The window has sheer curtains and blackout curtains which can be controlled through the beside control panel. The in-room air-conditioning is powerful enough to keep the room comfortably cool in the afternoon.
Guests are welcomed to their room with luk chup (ลูกชุบ) which is a Thai dessert made of mung bean paste shaped into miniature fruits and finally coated with jelly. They were served on a banana leaf placed on a Buddha hand sculpture.
Gold Members of Shangri-La Golden Circle also receive a platter of fruits, while Jade Members and Diamond Members can choose up to three welcome amenities. Diamond Members also receive a complimentary bottle of red or white wine.
The room is furnished with an executive writing desk, a minibar cabinet, two bedside tables, a sofa chair and a Thai-inspired seating area. Mounted on the bed's headboard is a mural painted on elm burl wood paneling.
Elegant Thai fabrics are used as bed runner and pillow cases. The bed features high threadcount sheets, feather duvet and pillows. The room is also equipped with a flatscreen television with local and international channels. High speed WiFi internet connection is available inside the room.
Bathrobes and room slippers are stored inside the wardrobe, as well as an electronic safe which is big enough to fit a laptop. Coffee and tea making facility is also provided. Complimentary Zesta-branded tea bags are available inside the minibar cabinet.
The bathroom is lined with marbles. There is a separate bathtub and walk-in shower fitter with a handheld and a rainfall shower-head. Towels are made of 100% cotton and were thick, clean and smelling fresh.
Signature Shangri-La Crispy Mint toiletries are provided including bath gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and soap. Two pairs of toothbrush and toothpaste are placed at the wash area. Hot and cold water are available at the basin and at the walk-in shower.
