Clay Craft Restaurant has both indoor and al-fresco dining areas with tables that can comfortably seat couples and groups of friends or family. The al fresco dining area is most preferred by the guests and gets very busy especially in the morning. The indoor dining area is quieter and is perfect for intimate dining.

► BUFFET BREAKFAST AT CLAY CRAFT RESTAURANT

Clay Craft Restaurant at Renaissance Bali

Renaissance Bali guests who the Marriott Bonvoy Member Rate Stay for Breakfast package can enjoy their daily buffet breakfast for up to two persons at Clay Craft Restaurant. The buffet breakfast features Continental, Western, Chinese and Indonesian options with live cooking stations where guests can order their customized egg and noodle dishes.

When I am in Indonesia, I usually start my breakfast with Ayam Bubur (Indonesian Rice Porridge with Chicken) which Clay Craft offers in its Asian section. During my stay, I craved for a noodle soup dish so I ordered Ayam Bakso (Indonesian Egg Noodles in Chicken Broth) instead.

Aside from the usual boiled and fried egg dishes and omelettes, the egg station also serves the Clay Craft signature Uluwatu Eggs Benedict which is made of flat bread topped with Babi Guling (Balinese roasted pig), poached egg and hollandaise sauce, and rolled into a cone.

I tend to try the local dishes offered in the buffet and skip the usual western and continental breakfast items. Some of the Indonesian dishes I tried during breakfast were Ayam Goreng (fried chicken), Sambal Telur (hard boiled eggs in sambal sauce), Mie Goreng (fried egg noodles), Tumis Kangkung (stir fried water spinach), and Tempeh Manis (soybean cakes in sweet soy sauce).

And finally, I usually end my breakfast with a platter of fresh fruits and freshly squeezed orange juice on the side. I had watermelon, honeydew, papaya, guava and dragon fruit. The fruits were very fresh and crunchy, very juicy and naturally sweet.
