Executive Lounge at Swissôtel Nankai Osaka

Located on the 33rd floor of the hotel, the Executive Lounge has a contemporary design which creates a casual yet classy atmosphere for guests. The Executive Lounge offers comfortable seating for its guests, may it be for an informal business meeting or a casual rendezvous with friends. The best seats are those located next to the glass windows.

Executive rooms are located on the executive floors (32nd, 33rd, 34th). To access the Executive Lounge, guests can either take the elevator to the 33rd floor or use the stairs connecting the three executive floors. The Executive Lounge is located on the 33rd floor and is open daily from 7:00am to 9:00pm. Below are the exclusive benefits available to Executive Lounge guests during their stay:

  • private check-in and check-out at the Executive Lounge
  • semi-buffet breakfast for up to two persons served from 7:00am to 10:30am (until 11:00am on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays)

  • all-day refreshments from 7:00am- 9:00pm daily
  • evening cocktails and hors d'oeuvres served from 5:00pm to 7:00pm daily

Most staff at the Executive Lounge can speak English and service is generally friendly and efficient. Special thanks to Ms. Laura Flores, the Executive Floor Manager, for a seamless check-in experience, and to Ms. Shirly Santiago, the Guest Experience Manager, for making sure that I enjoy every minute of my stay at the lounge.

► EVENING COCKTAILS & CANAPES AT THE EXECUTIVE LOUNGE

The evening cocktails is definitely the high of the Executive Lounge. Whether you are preparing for an evening of ramen hunting or coming back to the hotel after a whole day of business meetings, you shouldn't skip the evening cocktails. For two full hours, guests can enjoy unlimited servings of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

I usually go for cocktails or wine, but thankfully, the Executive Lounge staff introduced me umeshu. This Japanese liquor has a fruity and sweet taste. Mind you that umeshu has an alcohol content which ranges between 10% to 15%. I ended up drinking only umeshu during the evening cocktail.

There is also a wide selection of canapes which guests can pair with their drinks of choice. There's premium cheeses and cold cuts which go well with their fine wines. During my visit, they were also serving nachos with salsa, quiche, as well as fish and chips.

The best selling point of the Executive Lounge during evening cocktails was the dramatic view of the city during sunset. There are limited tables located next to the glass windows. Tables are available on a first-come-first-serve basis, so if you want to secure a window-side table, make sure to be at there before 5:00pm.

► SEMI-BUFFET BREAKFAST AT THE EXECUTIVE LOUNGE

Hotel guests, who have access to the Executive Lounge as part of their room package or Platinum member benefits, have the option to dine for breakfast at the Executive Lounge or at the hotel's all-day dining restaurant, Tavola36. The semi-buffet breakfast served at the Executive Lounge includes a buffet spread of Continental items as well as a selection of Japanese, Chinese and Western hot dishes.

During my stay at Swissôtel Nankai Osaka, I had one of my breakfasts at the Executive Lounge. I started my morning with a typical Japanese breakfast of miso soup, steamed rice, tamago, fish cakes, and grilled salted salmon.

The semi-buffet breakfast at the Executive Lounge also includes egg dishes which guests can order from a separate breakfast a la carte menu. Egg dishes are cooked a la minute and can be customized to your liking. I ordered eggs benedict with smoked salmon. Guests can order unlimited servings of dishes from the a la carte menu.

True to the Swissness of the hotel, the quality of their European pastries was excellent. I particularly loved the pain au chocolat and the buttery croissants served at the Executive Lounge.
