► LOCATION & TRANSPORTATION
Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok is about 34 kilometers away from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) and 28 kilometers from Don Muaeng International Airport (DMK). The hotel is centrally located in the Bang Rak district and easily accessible via Bangkok's BTS/MRT network of trains.
Airport Transfer
- My most recommended way to reach Shangri-La Hotel Bangkok from the airports is by using the GRAB ride-hailing application. Grab Car fare ranges from THB400 to THB450 which already includes toll fees.
- A more convenient alternative is to book the Hotel Limousin service starting from THB3,200 per way. The hotel limousin should be booked at least one day prior to your arrival. Email: slbk@shangri-la.com
- I personally recommended using the GRAB ride-hailing application. The service is very reliable and the drivers are generally nice. Grab Car fare is fixed so no need to worry about the meter.
- If you prefer to take a taxi, then make sure (insist in some cases) that the taxi driver uses the taxi meter. Never agree on a fixed price. The hotel's concierge can help you with getting a taxi from the lobby.
- For longer distances, you best choice to avoid the heavy traffic in Bangkok is to take the BTS Skytrain and the MRT Underground. The nearest station to the hotel is the Saphan Taksin BTS Station.
- For destinations along the Chao Phraya River, you can also take the Chao Phraya Express Boat service. The Sathorn Pier is located right next to the Saphan Taksin BTS Station and is easily accessible from the hotel via the Krungthep Wing.
- If you wish to go shopping at ICONSIAM, Shangri-La Hotel Bangkok offers Free Shuttle Boat service from 10:00am to 6:00pm. The shuttle boat departs every hour from the pier beside the hotel's NEXT2 restaurant and will return to the hotel via the Sathorn Pier (accessible from the hotel via the Krungthep Wing).
