A Cheese Soirée is a monthly wine and cheese buffet happening every third Wednesday of the month at the Whiskey Bar of The Peak, Grand Hyatt Manila. It features a selection of European cheeses, charcuterie, and bread which guests can pair with free-flowing red and white wine.

Different cheeses are featured every month. During our visit last December 2019, the cheese buffet featured a variety of premium cheeses from France (see list below). The selection includes cheeses that you rarely find in the Philippines.

As mentioned earlier, the buffet includes bread as well as cold cuts. In addition, there is also a Cheese Fondue station expertly prepared by Grand Hyatt Manila's executive sous chef. Raclette is also included in the cheese buffet. Just approach any of the staff for assistance with the Raclette grill.

The Peak being located on the 60th floor of the tallest building in the Philippines, we were treated with an unobstructed view of Manila Bay located some 10 kilometers away. Here at the Whiskey Bar, guests can choose between in-door dining and alfresco dining areas.

We chose to be seated in the alfresco area. There are only limited tables in this area so it is important to arrive early to secure a table here. Fortunately, we were blessed with great weather during our visit, allowing us to enjoy both the golden sunset and the cool December breeze.

Here is my platter of cheeses, charcuterie, and bread which I paired with Sauvignon Blanc. My personal favorites were the Tomme de Savoie and the Fourme d'Ambert which is a type of French blue cheese.

If you come as a group (like we did), you can have your own Cheese Fondue set up on your table. It comes with a board of cold cuts, bread cubes, broccoli, baby potatoes, and cherry tomatoes. If you availed of the free-flowing wine, the staff will also be refilling your wine glass from time to time.

Overall, I did enjoy this cheese buffet offering at The Peak. Considering the unique cheese selection, free-flowing wine, and spectacular view of the city, I think ₱1,800 net (~US$36.00) per person is a great value for money. If you are visiting Manila for business or for leisure, you should definitely include this in your itinerary.
