The Luxury Room Club Millésime is the highest non-suite, room category of Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich. The Luxury Room Club Millésime is located on the same floor as the Club Millésime Lounge (29th floor) where guests enjoy a host of complimentary business services and all-day refreshments.
The Luxury Room Club Millésime is available in two configurations. The first one is the corner-room version that is similar to the regular Luxury Room. During my stay, I was assigned to Room 2911 which is the version of the room similar to a Premium Luxury Room. While both versions measure 60 square meters, the room where I stayed in (Room 2911) felt more spacious.
The closet cabinet is located at the room's foyer. There is enough storage space for clothes for a week-long stay. An iron and ironing board are also provided. The safe is big enough to store a laptop and an average size DSLR camera. The luggage rack is located next to the room's main door.
There is a long desk in the middle of the bedroom which separates the seating area from the sleeping area. The floor to ceiling glass curtain allows plenty of natural light inside the room. The air-conditioning works perfectly in keeping the in-room temperature within the comfortable zone of 18°C-24°C.
The long table primarily serves as a work table. Universal power outlets are conveniently placed next to the tabletop while an ergonomic chair ensures your comfort while you are working. Complimentary wifi internet is available inside the room. Being a Club Millésime level room, guests also enjoy unlimited local phone calls which perfect for business travelers.
Guests staying in a Luxury Room Club Millésime are provided with welcome amenities of fresh fruits and sparkling water. On top of that, ALL Gold, and ALL Platinum members also receive a bottle of wine as a welcome gift.
The seating area features a couch that can comfortably seat up to three persons. There is a 40-inch flat-screen television with local and international cable channels. During my stay, I was able to catch up on international news via CNN and Channel News Asia (CNA).
Beside the couch is the minibar fully stocked with canned soda, fruit juices, beer, bottled still water and sparkling water. There's also a selection of spirits including vodka, gin, whiskey, and rum.
You can also brew your own coffee and tea in the comfort of your room. There is a Nespresso machine with four coffee capsules provided daily. There is also complimentary ground coffee that you can brew using a French press. Complimentary TWG tea bags are also provided.
The sleeping area of the Luxury Room Club Millésime is furnished with a king-size signature Sofitel Mybed, an end-of-bed bench, two bedside tables, a sofa chair, and a coffee table. Similar to my sleep experience at Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara and Sofitel Sanya Leeman Resort, I also had a restful sleep here at Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich.
Control buttons for the lights and curtains are conveniently located next to the bedside tables. Universal power outlets are also available. I particularly enjoyed the comfortable sofa chair beside the bed. I actually had a quick nap here after I had lunch at the hotel's all-day dining restaurant.
It is also worth mentioning that the flat-screen television stands on a swivel rack which allows the guests to watch the TV from the couch, from the sofa chair, or from the bed. If it serves you a purpose, you can even watch the television while working on the desk.
Occupying about a quarter of the room's total floor area is the private bathroom. It is enclosed with glass panels and is accessible from the sleeping area and from the foyer. This makes it very convenient to use the bathroom in the evening or to access the closet right after a shower.
There is a single vanity with a spacious countertop surface to place your personal toiletries. A flat-screen TV is also embedded in the bathroom mirror. Blinds can be rolled down for privacy. Controls are located next to the shower.
The bathroom features a free-standing bathtub and a separate walk-in shower with handheld and rainfall showerheads. The water closet features a toilet fitted with a bidet seat cover. Bathrobes and plush towels are provided.
Guests staying at Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich are provided with the Les Notes de Lanvin III Orange Ambre body and bath amenities by Lanvin, a Paris-based fashion house. The complete set includes a bar of hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and body lotion.
I really enjoyed my stay in this Luxury Room Club Millésime. For its size and layout, I personally think that this room can already qualify as a junior suite. Staying in this room also entitles you to late check-out until 16:00, perfect a late afternoon flight.
