New Normal Room Feature: One-Bedroom Deluxe Suite (1055)
The One-Bedroom Deluxe Suite is one of the four suite categories of Hilton Manila. Measuring 90 square meters, the One-Bedroom Deluxe Suite features an expansive living area, a dining area, a dedicated workspace, a separate bedroom, an ensuite marble bathroom, and a half bath. It also comes with complimentary Executive Lounge access and benefits.
My most recent stay in this suite category was in November 2020 when Hilton Manila finally reopened as a Staycation Hotel during the pandemic. I originally booked a One-Bedroom Suite but I was upgraded to this One-Bedroom Deluxe Suite because of my Hilton Honors Gold member status. This particular One-Bedroom Deluxe Suite is the corner version with room number ending in -55.
Executive Lounge Benefits at Port Bar
Unfortunately, the Executive Lounge will remain closed while Metro Manila is placed under General Community Quarantine (GCQ). Hilton CleanStay Program
The Hilton CleanStay Room Seal over your door means that your room has not been accessed by anyone since it had been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. In line with the Hilton CleanStay program, rooms and suites are fully cleaned including vacuuming the carpet, mopping floors, and wiping down all surfaces with hospital-grade cleaners.
All switches and electronic controls, handles and knobs, major bathroom surfaces, and the remote controls are then disinfected using products from Lysol, Dettol, Sagrotan, or Napisan. The room is then made up with freshly laundered towels and linens.
In addition, sanitation kits are also provided to each guest. The kit includes a hand sanitizer, an all-purpose disinfectant spray, alcohol wet wipes, and two pieces of face masks. Electronic keycards will still be issued upon check-in, but you are highly encouraged to use the Digital Key available on your Hilton Honors app. It works both on your door and elevators.
Dining Area
Guests entering the suite will be welcomed by this spacious dining area lined with black marble and furnished with an oval dining table with four dining chairs. The minibar is also located in the dining area. In the new normal, the mini-refrigerator is kept empty. Guests can then order a minibar package during their stay.
The coffee- and tea-making facility is placed above the minibar. There is also a Nespresso machine as well as complimentary Nespresso coffee capsules. Complimentary Dilmah tea bags are also provided. Complimentary drinking water is still provided in glass bottles. Notice the mugs and drinking glasses are wrapped in paper bags to protect them from contamination.
Half Bath
Tucked in a space behind the dining area and right next to the suite's main entrance door is the half bath. It is lined with black marble and is fitted with a sink and toilet. This offers convenience, especially for couples or families staying in this One-Bedroom Deluxe Suite.
Living Area
The living area is located right next to the dining area. It is furnished with a five-seater sectional sofa and a one-seater sofa. The living room is equipped with a 55-inch HDTV with soundbar. Local and international cable channels, as well as HD channels, are available.
The HDTV also has a Chromecast feature which will allow you to play YouTube or Netflix videos from your smartphone onto the HDTV. The HDTV also has HDMI ports to which you can connect your multimedia devices and gaming consoles.
Dedicated Workspace
This dedicated workspace is located next to the living area and is furnished with a spacious work desk and an ergonomic chair. Universal power outlets are available in a concealed compartment. Complimentary wifi internet is available inside the suite and in all public spaces of the hotel.
Bedroom
A door located in the dining area leads to the bedroom. Compared to the living area, the bedroom enjoys plenty of natural light. It is furnished with a king-size bed, two bedside tables, and a sofa. The bedroom also has its own 55-inch HDTV with local and international channels as well as Chromecast feature.
The air-conditioning worked perfectly in keeping the room temperature within the comfortable range of 18°C-24°C. As with my previous stays here at Hilton Manila, I also had an uninterrupted sleep here thanks to the signature Serenity Bed.
Located inside the bedroom is the walk-in closet. It features an open-shelf cabinet with a hanging closet rod, a luggage rack, and a laundry basket. Wooden clothes hanger are also provided with enough storage space for a week-long worth of clothes. Iron and ironing board are also stored in the open-shelf cabinet.
On the opposite side is a drawer cabinet where you can store folded clothes. On the topmost level is an electronic safe which is big enough to store a laptop. Next to the drawer cabinet is a vanity desk with a lighted mirror. A hairdryer is stored in one of the drawers.
Ensuite Bathroom
Equally spacious was the ensuite bathroom. Located inside the bedroom and accessible through the walk-in closet, the ensuite bathroom features a double basin vanity with a double-wide mirror, a separate walk-in shower, a separate bathtub, and a toilet fitted with a bidet spray.
The walk-in shower features a handheld showerhead and a rainfall showerhead. Water pressure was consistently strong during our stay. Hot water was available almost instantaneously and the water temperate was easy to regulate.
Verbena and Lavander de Provence bath amenities by Crabtree & Evelyn are provided in 45ml bottles. The complete set includes shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, bath soap, and facial soap.
As mentioned earlier, bathrooms are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before every stay. Freshly laundered towels are also provided in all guestrooms and suites. Housekeeping service will also be available only upon request. This is to minimize the contact and cross-contamination between the guests and the hotel staff.
