Hotel Okura Manila welcomes the arrival of Autumn 2022 with its very first Afternoon Tea offering at Yawaragi Restaurant -「和らぎ」. Guests can choose between the Japanese Set and the English Set. Both are available daily from 3PM to 5PM and can be shared by two persons.

Japanese Set

The Japanese Set features savory and sweet items served in a two-tier wooden box. The savory items highlight Japanese seasonal autumn ingredients while the sweet items feature autumn fruits and spices. The Japanese set includes two pieces of every savory and sweet item, plus four scones, clotted cream, and jams.

English Set

---

The English Set is served in a traditional three-tier afternoon tea stand. It includes classic finger sandwiches, small cakes, pastries, scones, clotted cream, and jams. The set is good for two persons.



The top tier includes sweet items including Blackberry and Candied Ginger Shortbread, Almond and Raspberry Bakewell Tart, Dark Chocolate Éclair, and Battenberg Cakes. These are not overly sweet and make good pairing with tea.



The middle tier includes four finger sandwiches including smoked salmon, cucumber, York ham, and egg & cress. Each sandwich is sliced into halves. These are also perfect with tea.



The bottom tier includes Strawberry Tarts, Butter and Raisin Scones, served with authentic Devonshire Clotted Cream, Rose Petal Preserves, and Lemon Curd. The scones were soft and crumbly. The rose petal preserves are my absolue favorite.

Tea and Coffee Selections

The Japanese Set and English Set come with one round of loose-leaf tea or coffee per person. Choices for tea are Japanese Sencha, Earl Grey, Strawberry & Raspberry, Peppermint, Genmaicha, and Chamomile. For coffee, you may choose to have Cappuccino, Latte, or Brewed Coffe.
