Highlights & Must-Try Dishes

Beef Rendang is a classic and very popular Indonesian dish for both locals and foreigners. Afterglow Bar & Kitchen serves the spicy Padang-style beef rendang. I enjoyed it since I love spicy food. It is served with steamed rice, emping (melinjo seeds crackers), boiled cassava leaves, and sambal hijau (a spicy condiment made of green chilis and green tomatoes).

The Balinese Crispy Pork Belly is similar to porchetta but flavored with sambal matah, a Balinese spice paste made with fresh chilis and shallot. It is served with steamed rice, sayur urap (an Indonesian salad of steamed vegetables with seasoned and spiced grated coconut), and sambal mbe (Balinese shallots sambal).

Nasi Goreng Kampung Style is always a good choice for a meal in Indonesia. This traditional Indonesian fried rice is topped with a fried egg and comes with fried chicken, beef satay, salad, kerupuk bawang (garlic-flavored crackers), and acar (vegetable pickle). You can have the spiciness customized.

For dessert, I had their Tiramisu served with chocolate gelato and tuile (baked wafer). I paired the tiramisu with Flat White.
Happy Hour

Happy Hour here at Afterglow Bar & Kitchen runs from 5:00pm to 8:00pm daily. The menu includes eight cocktails. What I like here is that your free drink can be different from the first drink you ordered. I tried the Lavender G&T (purple gin with lavender syrup, cucumber cordial, clarified lemon juice, and tonic water) and the classic Aperol Spritz (Aperol, Prosecco, soda water).
