SO Sofitel Bangkok is a five-star luxury hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, centrally located at the corner of North Sathorn Road and Rama IV Road. It stands right across Lumphini Park and easily accessible via Bangkok's MRT Blue Line. SO Sofitel Bangkok is part of SO Sofitel, a luxury brand of the AccorHotels group.
Taking inspiration from Bangkok's Lumphini Park, SO Sofitel Bangkok has worked together with five of Thailand's best interior designers who interpreted the five Chinese elements (water, earth, wood, metal, and fire) to the design of the guestrooms and dining spaces.

SO Sofitel Bangkok has also collaborated with French fashion designer Christian Lacroix to style the Club Signature (the hotel's executive lounge), to create design patterns for the guestrooms, and to design the uniforms of the hotel's staff. SO Sofitel Bangkok is not all about cosmetics. The

SO Sofitel Bangkok has an executive lounge called Signature Club which is located on the 25th floor. Guests staying in SO Club Rooms up to SO VIP Duplex Suite have complimentary access to the lounge. My stay, however, did not include access to the Signature Club. I will update this article in the future if I get to book a SO Club Room.

One of the highlights of SO Sofitel Bangkok is the Infinity Pool overlooking Lumphini Park. Guests can enjoy the sun while cooling down on refreshing drinks from the poolside bar. On the last Saturday of each month, the infinity pool also plays host to the monthly SO Pool Party featuring live DJ performances and open bar happy hours. The infinity pool is open daily from 6:00am to 10:00pm.
SO/ Spa is the in-house wellness center of SO Sofitel Bangkok. The best way to end your Bangkok trip is to have a relaxing body treatment or a rejuvenating body massage from SO/ Spa's well-trained therapists. I personally recommend the indulgent SO Aromatic Massage that relaxes both the body and the mind, or the more traditional SO Thai Massage that combine muscle pressures and stretching to rebalance your energy.
► SO SOFITEL BANGKOK: LOCATION & TRANSPORTATION
SO Sofitel Bangkok is located at the corner of North Sathorn Road and Rama IV Road and is easily accessible via the Lumphini Station of the Bangkok MRT Blue Line. Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) is located some 27km north of the hotel while Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) is located some 32km east of the hotel.
Airport Transfer
- My preferred way to get to the city from either airport (DMK or BKK) is to book a GrabCar using the Grab app
- GrabCar fare from DMK or BKK airports to the hotel is around THB320.00 to THB350.00 depending on the time of the day
- Toll fees of THB120.00 is not yet included in the GrabCar fare
Moving Around
- For shorter distances, I recommend taking a GrabCar
- For long-distance trips within Bangkok, I suggest that you take the Sky Train and the Subway.
- The hotel provides a schedule Tuk Tuk Shuttle which can bring you to Silom MRT Station (subway), the Central Silom Complex, and the Saladaeng BTS Station (sky train).
