One-Bedroom Suite at 93 square meters
The Executive Suite is the lead-in suite category of Shangri-La The Fort, Manila. Measuring 93 square meters, the Executive Suite features a living area, a dining area, a separate bedroom, an ensuite bathroom, and a half bath. A stay in an Executive Suite comes with Horizon Club Lounge access and benefits.
Floor Plan
The Executive Suite is located on the southwestern corner of the hotel tower. It has an L-shape floor plan with the living room on the left side while the bedroom on the right side. During this visit, I stayed in Room 3317 on the 33rd floor.
Living Room
The Executive Suite is styled in timeless Shangri-La elegance, decorated in maple, dark wood, ash grey, and embellished with silver, gold, and crystal. Oriental patterns and local materials are also integrated into the interior design.
Entering the suite, you will be welcomed by a round dining table crowned by a fabulous crystal chandelier. The dining table can seat up to four persons, perfect for a small family with two children. I adore the pattern of the upholstered chairs.
Opposite the dining table is a workstation that features an executive writing desk with desk-level universal power outlets. The complimentary Wi-Fi internet was fast enough to support video calls via MS Teams or Zoom.
The living area is furnished with a five-seater sectional sofa plus one armchair. The welcome amenity was neatly set up on the center table and was consistent with the preferences I noted in my profile.
As a Golden Circle Jade member, I am entitled to a platter of fresh fruits plus two additional welcome amenities. For this stay, I requested Coke Light and cup noodles, which the hotel accurately delivered.
There is a 48-inch flatscreen television with local and international cable channels. During my stay, I connected my Google Chromecast to the TV via HDMI which allowed me to watch videos on Youtube and Netflix. The wi-fi was able to support video streaming in HD quality.
You can also find a Nespresso machine in the living room. Complimentary bottled water and six Nespresso coffee capsules are provided and replenished daily. If you are a heavy drinker of coffee, you can always request additional coffee capsules at any time during your stay.
Artisans micro-ground coffee is also provided. I find these far superior to Nescafe instant coffee. I usually bring home these micro-ground coffee sachets and save them for staycations where a Nespresso is not provided.
In addition to Nespresso and Artisans, guests are also provided with Zesta tea bags. They are available in four flavors and my favorite ones are the Green Tea with Jasmine and the Black Tea with Osmanthus Flowers.
The living room is the perfect venue for families to spend quality time together. Some of the fun activities that families can enjoy during their stay include playing Nintendo Switch games, puzzle games, origami, watching movies, or storytelling.
Bedroom
The bedroom is about the same size as a Deluxe Room (45-47 square meters). Being located in the corner of the building, the bedroom has two floor-to-ceiling windows that allow plenty of natural into the room.
The bedroom is equipped with its own 48-inch flatscreen television. The bedroom is also well air-conditioned and I was able keep the in-room temperature within my preferred range of 18°C-22°C.
The bedroom features an oversized king bed. This is one of the main reasons why I prefer staying at Shangri-La The Fort, Manila. The mattress has excellent back support and a plush topper that enhances the sleep experience.
The bedroom also has a seating area furnished with a two-seater sofa, an ottoman, and a coffee table. The is the perfect relaxation spot in the bedroom where you can enjoy a warm drink while admiring the view from the window.
Here is the view from the west-facing window of the bedroom. Seen here are some of the commercial and residential buildings of the Bonifacio Global City CBD. The Makati CBD is also visible in the background. On a clear day, the Manila Bay sunset can also be witnessed from here.
Business travelers staying in a Executive Suite will love the convenience of having a workstation inside the bedroom. With two workstations available, this is also great news for couples on a business stay.
I was on Work From Hotel arrangement during this visit and I spent most of my work hours in the bedroom. Having mini-breaks to relax my back recharges me to continue working for the rest of my shift.
For guests staying for a week or longer, there should be enough space for you to hang your clothes in the closet. Additional storage space in the drawers is available for folded clothes. Iron and ironing board are stored inside a sliding compartment.
The bedrooms is generously spacious with enough floorspace to accommodate one extra bed which is available at ₱1,800 per night. Shangri-La The Fort, Manila can also provide a baby cot upon request. This is complimentary and is subject to availability. Advance request is recommended.
Ensuite Bathroom & Powder Room
Located right next to the entrance door of the bedroom is the powder room. It is fitted with a single wash basin and a toilte with bidet seat cover. Toilet paper, hand soap, and hand lotion are provided in here.
The ensuite bathroom is lined with white marble and features a walk-in shower (with handheld and rainfall showerheads) and a deep-soaking bathtub. The toilet is also fitted with a bidet seat cover.
There is only a single vanity here. In the unlikely event that two persons need to use the wash basin at the same time, this shouldn't be a problem since the powder room is just a few steps away.
Guests staying in an Executive Suite are provided with Jasmine & Bergamote body and bath amenities by L'Occitane en Provence. The set includes shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and body lotion in 50ml platic bottles.
Other bathroom amenities are tootbrush, toothpaste, comb, razor, shaving cream, shower cap, bath salt, hair band, cotton buds, and cotton pads.
In-Room Breakfast
