Edsa Shangri-La, Manila is a five-star hotel located in Ortigas Center, one of the central business districts of the Philippine capital. Edsa Shangri-La, Manila opened in 1992 as the first Shangri-La hotel in the Philippines. Edsa Shangri-La, Manila forms part of the Shangri-La Place mixed-use development which also includes the Shangri-La Plaza mall and two residential condominiums.

Dubbed as an urban oasis in the heart of the city, Edsa Shangri-La, Manila is designed as a city resort with a freeform swimming pool surrounded by palm trees and verdant gardens as its centerpiece. In October 2020, Edsa Shangri-La, Manila was authorized by the Department of Tourism to operate as a Staycation Hotel while Metro Manila is placed under General Community Quarantine (GCQ).




Pre-Arrival Reminders
Edsa Shangri-La, Manila

  • In compliance with government regulations, Edsa Shangri-la Manila only accepts staycation guests who are residents of Metro Manila and Calabarzon Region.
  • Guests of all ages are allowed to go on staycation except guests who are pregnant or with comorbidities.
  • Guests sharing the same room must also be from the same household. Proof of Residence such as government-issued or company ID with residence address must be presented upon check-in. For IDs without residence address, each guest can secure a Barangay Residence Certificate as a supporting document.
  • All guests are required to submit a Health & Travel Declaration Form online, 24 hours prior to arrival. Once submitted, you will receive a Travel and Health Declaration Confirmation Letter at the email address you provided. The email will contain a QR Pass which you will have to present to the nurse on duty at the lobby.
  • All guests must also fill out the Online Pre-registration Form, 24 hours prior to arrival. This will speed up your check-in process.
  • All staycation guests are required to present a negative Rapid Antigen Test result issued on the same day of check-in. For your convenience, Edsa Shangri-La Manila offers an in-house Rapid Antigen Testing service. The fee is ₱1,800 per person and can be charged to your room bill. The whole process takes 20-30 minutes. You can wait at the Lobby Lounge while waiting for the test results which will be forwarded to the Front Office.
  • If you will be bringing your car, please note that the Valet Parking service is temporarily not available.





Check-In & Check-Out Process

  • Safe physical distancing must be observed in the reception area. Floor markers are installed for your guidance.
  • The front desk is installed with plexiglass partitions. Guests and front desk associates are required to wear a face mask and a face shield. Hand sanitizer and sanitized pens are also provided at the front desk.
  • Guests are encouraged to use cashless payment options. In addition to credit cards and debit cards, GCash is also accepted.
  • Instead of a printed receipt, just request a digital copy via email.
  • Sanitize your hands before and after your check-in/check-out.





Shangri-La Cares Program

The Shangri-La Cares program aims to create a comfortable and safe environment by implementing safety standards and precautionary measures in the hotel's public spaces, guestrooms, and restaurants:

  • Arrival - Guests will be asked to wear face masks prior to entering the hotel; guest temperature will be recorded
  • Public Spaces - Increased cleaning and sanitizing frequency of all public areas, washrooms, elevators, countertops, and high-touch surfaces; hand sanitizing gels will be available at key guest areas; only three people will be allowed to take the lift at any one time; guests must wear their face masks and face shields at all times.
  • Guestrooms - Only registered guests are allowed to enter the rooms; a self-care pack will be provided for every guest; bottled drinks and snacks will no longer be available in the minibar; room attendants will only clean the room in the absence of guests; hospital-grade disinfectant and new sanitation technology will be utilized to clean the rooms.
  • Restaurants - Guests must wear their face masks and face shields before they are allowed to enter; tables and booths will be well-spaced to observe safe physical distancing; face-to-face dining is not allowed, even among family members; utensils are wrapped in table napkins; alcohol wet wipes and face mask envelopes will be provided; dishes are covered with a cloche when being served to guests.

Edsa Shangri-La, Manila consists of two towers: the Tower Wing (the main tower) and the Garden Wing (expansion tower). In total, the hotel has 631 guestrooms and suites. Garden Wing rooms were last renovated in 2007 while Tower Wing rooms were renovated in 2013.

If you are staying on a breakfast-inclusive rate, your breakfast will be served at HEAT Restaurant, the hotel's all-day dining restaurant. While the Horizon Club Lounge remains closed during General Community Quarantine (GCQ), Horizon Club Room and Suite guests, as well as Golden Circle Jade and Diamond members, can also enjoy their breakfast benefit at HEAT. Swimming Pool
Edsa Shangri-La, Manila

The Swimming Pool is open daily from 6:00am to 3:00pm on Mondays to Thursdays, and until 6:00pm on Fridays to Sundays. Prior reservation is required, in line with the health and safety protocols of the hotel. You can reserve your slot (maximum of two hours per day) upon check-in or by calling the hotel's service center.





Health Club
Edsa Shangri-La, Manila

The Health Club is open daily from 6:00am to 6:00pm. Prior reservation is also required in order to manage the number of guests using the gym at any time. You can reserve your slot (maximum of two hours per day) upon check-in or by calling the Health Club.



Plexiglass partitions have been installed between work-out machines while surfaces and equipment are sanitized every after use. Hand sanitizing stations are also available around the gym. The hydrotherapy facilities (hot whirlpool bath, cold plunge pool, sauna, and steam room) are temporarily not available.
